Last week, I had attended in Social Media curriculum held in KOTRA. Because my boss gave order for me to participate in those and study about recent trend of Social Media stuff in those days. However, It was quite undeeper and less profound than i thought. because the fact that Social media wave in south korea still in the early age and we, I mean almost people in internet atmosphere in south korea are usually having their presence online only Korean local portal or Social Network Service like Naver.com or Cyworld.com etc..
Well Although the main topic for this social media curriculum was Marketing and Relation forward the world wide, Some People who attended in don't even heard about the biggest Social media site like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter which are having real big issues and fad all around the world.
Anyway, I think Korea is well known for its wireless high-speed Internet infrastructure for millions of subscribers across the South korea, however, there are only for Gaming or entertaining things to spend time to waste, not for productive thing. it is the different culture that the concept of marketing for online and SNS or famous portal site such as naver is all about increasing the exposure of keyword as a result of searching the information by user in the site.
In those days there have been different aspects of marketing style coming to industry we also consider that the relationship and qualilty of contents is the most important thing when doing a marketing stuffs through the internet.
Especially, in naver.com Korean blogger for marketing used to drag-copy-attached contents which is the weird style of written things or (very)official and very unfamilar information from the organization or company. And they only consider the traffic to visit in and keep doing the samethings to manipulate the traffic again and again. But as Numerous million of people are having their owned account and have a relationship with their friends via blogging and social network service. we could also more credit to information from our friend's blog or have trust based on reviewing by any other user for the products before buying it.
So I can noticed that although there is diffent online space to share the communication and to meet the people due to the differn language maybe.......
As we can see more People who more depending on social media than exsisting media like TV,Radio or newpaper, it is possible to send the independant or individuall message to the public out of influence by traditional media zone. So the conception of Public Relation ship with customer and maketing plans are getting different.

Case2> and town.cyworld.com is the one of the useful tool to have company precence for marketing in Cyworld. Company can have their official mini homepage calling town and have relationship with their individual fans by IL-chon (일촌) relates which is traditional individual connection system with friends in cyworld.
I think the korean is wet behind the ears of social media sites AKA Facebook and anyother social media site around the world. But we also have common with those wave by social media. Because we ve already established the environment to talk on internet and understand the Social Networking by internet presence.
There are absolutely different language and different culture however
I think the significant thing to understand at the concept of the work in social media is making a sharable gooooood and gorgeous contents and having a relationship with your people freely. that's what it takes.
