I had social media conference in Secondlife for a long time








As Beginning of this year 2010, I could have virtual talkshow within secondlife. it's been a really long time to have presence in secondlife. and i was just invited from HCHO who is the host of TOV show. And we had talked about the Social Media emerging topic in these days such as twitter.

And all you might notice that it only talks in korean. So I don't think you can understand the whole talk what we had talked about. so sorry for that however,

the mainpoint of this talk show was the fact that current social media will be more common and more powerful as growing spreads of smartphone, iphone or blackberry etc.. and we could have virtual connected presence within our daily life not only in front of Personal computer but wherever we are near established internet network via WIFI. So I think we can generate more contents with our daily life even if it is just short unuseful comments. and we are on the unrefined tons of messages currently sharing on network.
It is like the early age of internet when we first saw the network atmosphere called PC network. There were millions of information and messages that is unqualified and unvaluable contents as well as current situation we can see in case of twitter.

I think the next step for the social media in the future will go foward to solution that how we can controle and manage the selective and trustworthy contents among the crowded random messages and information.

For example, if we take the point of selecitng message according to specific subject like " Location " guess what?
Geo tagged picture that could extract from the GPS adopted iphone can be combined with short message for that location user wants to spread the word through the social media.
That would generate more sharable contents and we can have common denominator to lead the word of mouth and big buzz for the location.
That could lead us to valuable business model for Point of Interests or travle guide contents like Yelp, Where or forsquare. I think these service are really up and commer busines model.

So the next business model for mining money will be gaining attention from people by exposures of crowding sourced contente.
Cuz we can have and use more free software or service as growing market of Software-as-a-Service. Moreover, People will use and develope the customised service by Open API. Every contents and every site will intergrated and mixed up becoming a collective intelligence.

On the other hand, Second Life now looks decreasing and backwarding but still have a great promises for next gerneration. Younger Generation is used to work in 3D virtual world or Social networks such as Club Penguin, Gaia online or Habbo Hotel. and they will be more familar with 3D immersive virtual space like Secondlife.
According to Gartner Research group, 80% of current account on the Web will have their account on virtual world by 2013.
whether it will be correct or not i dont know either, but still virtual world space is really innovative communication tool. we could have various tools including text and voice chat together to talk not only 1 on 1 but Mass on mass as well as conference call.

SL Business Needs Reproduction in case of S. Korea.

After Cyworld had released their new 3D service, Minilife, Korea also have been rised attention to 3D space service. Infact, 3D virtual world craze had already swept the world wide last year. The Second Life that represents Virtual World, had numerous global companies made thieir own presence. Even a couple of them make great business across the Second Life.

Well I think that the reason why the 3D virtual worlds brought sizzle to the world then come into the spotlight as one of the next generation technology, because, 3D Virtual Worlds are more exellent than traditional web in case of information publishing and we can carry out the economic, cultural and educational activities with making with user generating contents. That means already many informations had accumulated on virtual area based on web, then that the suitable way that we can produce it more efficiently is 3D virtual world, Second Life.
Therefore Second Life's most uniq factor is rather data we make sense, efficient communication and virtual economy system which is available to change virtual currency to real currence than brilliant 3d graphic stuffs.

Ofcourse in a stance of client or enterpreneurs, they need to concern about practical application rather than theory due to the needs of tangible achievemen. But when introduction of new tech, it is often concerned as trend not tech. that's why catching a changes of technology is so important. There are frequent occasions that we can't take a Tech as ours easilly, when someone use the tech. because, it is usually reproduced as suitable tools according to the certain circumstances.

In the event of google, who brought sizzled to the world, take a possession of 5% in the korea domestic internet market.
and even a Ipod of apple swept off the world MP3 maket, 70%, only share the 15% in korea domestic maket.

Because Korea domestic market show their difference with global there are needs of reproducing new tech. I hope that we can see the various company bring up the new market after they discovered the pratical trend in case of leading industry uses such as Second Life.
